Chapter 3

MINORITY RIGHTS AND INTERNATIONAL LAW

Introduction:

Each country has its own national law. However, international law also exists. Some international laws can affect the laws and justice systems of countries, depending on whether countries have to, or have agreed to, follow those international laws. This chapter looks at what international law is and how countries agree to follow certain international laws. It also looks at specific treaties, declarations and principles that can affect minority groups.
